Everything is cool, except this f-ing delay! Does this have anything to do with the headphones and the transfer to analog out? If the sound card is cool, and meets all the requirements, what would cause this? I can't record a harmony overdub as it will be horribly out of sync. The latency setting is below 20 using the WaveRT driver, and the playback device is correct. From voice to headphones there is a 1/2 second delay heard in headphones!!!!! Listen back to virtual instrument tracks to practice vocal (dry, with NO effects.)ĥ.
Plug in headphones into 1/8" input on laptop to monitor and check to make sure the headphones are the playback device.Ĥ. However, when using a mic, I have not been able to solve problems with latency and major delay in monitoring. This computer is PLENTY fast enough and creating MIDI Vitrual instrument tracks and songs is NO PROB and they come out fantastic. Theres a trade-off though, in that lower buffer sizes require more CPU power.
The smaller the buffer size, the lower the latency. I have a Duo Core laptop running Vista with 2MB of RAM and am using the Wave RT Sound Device with the lowest possible latency. The settings you change below will affect the Overall Latency field.
